About Sherry Yarger

A mother of three and grandmother of 9 (soon to be 11), I’m divorced and was a single working mom for 10 years. Without God as my refuge I don’t know how I would have made it through those years. The prayers of those in the home Bible study I was a part of during that time really lifted us up. My daughter passed away suddenly three years ago at the age of 29 and it helps me to know that she is at home with the Lord. I look forward to seeing her again one day.

I’ve been a Christian since my senior year in high school and have been blessed that my children accepted the Lord early in life and have remained strong in their faith. They’ve all had strong marriages, which I feel is such a blessing and answer to prayer. Although I’ve faced ups and downs in life, one thing has always been constant, and that is that God is in control. Two of my favorite scriptures are Psalm 103:8-13 and Ephesians 3:16-21, the latter being my favorite prayer for all people.

Currently unemployed, I’m enjoying the break between jobs. However, working in the nonprofit arena for the past 20+ years has helped to remain cognizant of and thankful for my many blessings. My goal in life is for others to see Jesus in me, and my favorite saying is, “People need loving when they deserve it the least.”
