I Heard My Savior Say…

Your sins are forgiven.
Believe in me.
Fear not!
Peace be to you.
I am your light.
I am your Shepherd, I will lead you.
Do not worry about tomorrow.
I have called you friend.
I want your life to be abundant.
The yoke I have for you is easy and the burden is light.
I will give you living water so you will never thirst again.
Consider the lilies…My Father will provide for you.
Do not let your heart be troubled. I am preparing a place for you.
I have sent you the Comforter.
I am with you always!
I am the resurrection and your life.
Because I live, you will live also.
Ask and you will receive.
It is my Father’s pleasure to give you the kingdom.
You are blessed.
I will never leave or forsake you.
No one can snatch you away from Me.
Be ready, I am coming for you as a groom comes for his bride.

“Grace and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.”  Titus 1:4

“As for you, follow me.” John 21:22 (NLT)

Jesus is your Shepherd. As your Shepherd His call to you is “follow Me.” Following is how you know His will for you as you move through your day.

He does not say to you, “Give me your list of all you have planned today so that I may know how to walk with you and meet your needs.” Also, He does not say to you, “Here is the list that I have prepared for you to walk in today…do the list, one thing at a time, and check things off as you do them.”

As you follow Him, your walk is a walk of faith, not a walk of lists. His will is revealed through your relationship with Him. You will know His will, not as you look around to see where others are going or what they are doing, but as you look to Jesus and see where He is going and what He is doing.

His will is not known or done apart from Him. Follow Him—the work He wants to do through you today is something He may not be leading anyone else to do.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want”. Psalm 23:1

– To the lost sheep,  He is the seeking Shepherd;

– To the needy sheep,  He is the providing Shepherd;

– To the hurting sheep,  He is the comforting Shepherd;

– To the bruised sheep,  He is the healing Shepherd;

– To the anxious sheep,  He is the peaceful Shepherd;

– To the wandering sheep,  He is the guiding Shepherd;

– To the fearful sheep,  He is the protecting Shepherd;

To all His sheep
,  He is the Good Shepherd.

Learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve Him with your whole heart and a willing mind.” 1 Chronicles 28:9 NKJV

Lord, I want to know You more, not just with my head, but intimately, in the depths of my spirit. I desire to live in You, abide in You, be fruitful in You, and have the fullness of Your joy as my portion. I have tasted of Your delights and know that You are good, help me now to feast with You at Your table. Help me draw near, to drink of Your Spirit, to delight in Your will, to walk in Your steps, to be in agreement with Your will, to take Your yoke fully upon me, and to learn of You.

I ask You to take me closer to Your heart—I want to know more deeply what it means to love You; I want to know more fully what it means to experience the pleasure Your company; I want to know more completely what it means to serve You as a faithful servant.

Lord, through my vision, help to see more clearly the things that You see through Your eyes; through my thoughts, help me to understand the things that You know in Your wisdom; through my tongue, help me to speak the words that are upon Your lips. By Your grace, I want to know the power of Your cross, the fellowship of Your suffering, the triumphs of Your victory, and the glory of a life that is seated with You at the Father’s right hand.

I ask You to make me more aware of the things that You celebrate and bring You pleasure. I want to do those things that cause You to say “I am pleased”; I want to follow the path that causes Your face to shine upon me; I want to do the work that has Your approval; I want to make the choices that will result in hearing Your “Well done.”

“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us.” Psalm 90:17 KJV

Prayer

Like clay, our lives need to be formed, molded and shaped into the image of the One who created us. Godly character is not a gift that we instantly receive, but is something that is formed within us by placing our lives in God hands, receiving His grace, depending upon His Spirit and choosing to do what is pleasing in His sight.

It is important for us to pray that we, and our children, will not only know the Lord and follow the Lord, but that we will also be yielded to the Lord so that His character can be formed within us. No life is more beautiful than the one whose heart is filled with loveliness, whose attitudes are filled with kindness, whose words are spoken with gentleness, and whose behavior is marked by righteousness.

Lord, let our lives, and our children’s lives, receive and reflect your attributes and character.

“Young men and young women, old men and children. Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For His name is very great; His glory towers over the earth and heaven! He has made His people strong, honoring His faithful ones. Psalm 148:12-14 NLT

Prayer

Father, may we daily see You, hear You, and love You. May we taste and see that You are good.
May we touch You with the hand of faith and know the reality of Your presence.
May our days be full of joy and may our lives be daily blessed.
I ask that we will know, more and more, how great You are, how glorious are Your ways, how awesome are Your works.
May we sing Your songs of joy.
May we speak Your words of life. May we sound forth Your praises.
May worship fill our spirit. May truth fill our minds.
May wisdom fill our understanding.
May our tongues bring forth constant gratitude and thankfulness.
Lord, keep us strong in Your strength;
keep us blessed with Your blessings;
keep us full in Your abundance as we see Your faithfulness revealed to us day by day.

Thoughts by Men thoughts by Roy Lessin

Out of God’s heart came love; out of His love came mercy; out of His mercy came grace.

We are saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8)
God did all the work to make our salvation possible. He paid the complete price so we could receive His full salvation as a free gift. His salvation is a finished work, a perfect work, a final work.

Grace is not wishful thinking, but a reality that is based upon the truth of the Gospel (Colossians 1:6)
Grace is ours to know, to experience, and to celebrate.

We are brought into peace through grace (2 John 1:3)
Grace delights in taking us by the hand and walking with us into the place of peace with God and into the place of enjoying the peace of God in our hearts.

We are able to grow in grace as a plant grows in soil (2 Peter 3:18)
An indicator of our maturity in Christ is the development of more graciousness in our character—giving us a softer tone, a quieter way, a kinder manner, and a gentler response.

Grace comes to us out of God’s great generosity (2 Peter 1:2)
In God’s mathematics, grace is not added to our lives, it is multiplied.

Grace is the response of God’s favor upon those who are dependent upon
Him
(1 Peter 5:5)
The river of God’s grace flows into the lowly place of the heart.

Grace is what our hearts need to be established and secure (Hebrews 13:9)
Grace doesn’t get us worked up and stirred up, it quiets us down and enables us to settle into Christ’s life.

God brings His grace to the very center of who we are and what we desire (Philemon 1:25)
When grace is in our spirit, grace will also impact our thoughts, our choices, and our feelings.

Grace will impact our behavior for the good. (Colossians 4:6)
Grace is a life-changer, not only in our desires and motives, but in our understanding and in our speech.

We find grace at the place of grace, the mercy seat of God (Hebrews 4:16)
Out of God’s heart came love; out of His love came mercy; out of His mercy came grace.

Truth

Truth, like the sunrise, moves away night;
It enters the soul sending demons to flight.
Truth, like a hammer, breaks every chain;
It works like an ointment to heal every pain.

Truth, like a locksmith, sets captives free;
It touches the heart causing blind eyes to see.
Truth, like a searchlight, exposes the lie;
It soars as the eagle to lift you on high.

Truth is the captain that knows no defeat.
Truth is my portion, my milk and my meat.
Truth is the music that lets my heart sing.
Truth is my Savior, He’s Lord and He’s King!

Jesus said, “I am…the Truth.John 14:6

“We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith.”  Hebrews 12:2 (GW)

Focus:

Not on the winds of opposition, but on the setting of the sail;

Not on the howling of the storm, but on the voice of the Captain;

Not on the darkness of the sea, but on the lighthouse on the shore;

Not on the density of the fog, but on the true north of the compass;

Not on the restlessness of the waves, but on the anchor that holds steady.

God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.”  Hebrews 6:18-19 NLT

Promise

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.” 1 Peter 5:7-9 NLT

Prayer

Lord, I know according to Your Word, we have an enemy who wants to rob, kill and destroy our faith and trust in You.

I thank You that what You want to do in our lives is more powerful than what the enemy seeks to do.

Thank You that You are greater than anything or anyone who would come against us.

Father, may Your truth always keep me and my children from Satan’s lies;

may Your light always keep us from his darkness;

may Your wisdom always keep us from his confusion;

may Your peace always keep us from his restlessness;

may Your pathway always keep us from his dead-end road.

Give each one of Your children the grace to cast all our worries and cares upon You, and to not be weighed down with concerns that You never intended for us to carry.

Help us, by Your grace, to stand firm against every scheme of the devil, to be strong and daily growing in our faith and confidence in You, and help us to pray for others with a sincere heart of understanding and love.

Promise

“The Lord who made you and helps you says: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, My servant, O dear Israel, My chosen one. For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children. They will thrive like watered grass, like willows on a riverbank.”
Isaiah 44:2-4 NLT

Prayer

My Father, what a wonderful God You are. My children (and I) are handmade by You. You are our designer. You are our helper and keeper. I ask that we will never doubt, question, or wonder who we are, where we came from, or where we are going.

May we live free of fear—safe from its bondage, kept from its paralyzing grip, protected from everything that would terrify and hinder us from experiencing all that You have for us. May our hearts be full of expectancy and assurance, knowing that You have set us free.

Pour out upon each of us Your abundant mercies, Your abundant grace, Your abundant goodness, Your abundant blessings, Your abundant love. May we always drink from Your fountain of joy; wash in the river of Your mercies; be touched by Your refreshing rains. Quench our thirsty souls, water the garden of our hearts, keep our spirits in Your healing streams. Cause us to thrive, flourish, and prosper in life and in our relationship with You.

Thoughts by Men thoughts by Roy Lessin

Are you discouraged or downhearted? Allow God to lift you with His love.

May you receive more and more of God’s mercy, peace, and love.”
Jude 1:2
(NLT)

Because of God’s mercies you can follow Him with all of your heart today, assured that there is nothing being held over your head to condemn you; you can take each step today with a quiet heart knowing that His peace keeps you steady and sure; you can move ahead today with great confidence of faith knowing His love keeps you close to His heart, mindful of His promises, and confident of His care. God’s mercies declare that you are covered in His compassion; His peace proclaims that you are renewed in His rest; His love heralds that you are bathed in His blessings of joy.

Are you tired or weary today? Allow God to renew you with His strength. Are you discouraged or downhearted? Allow God to lift you with His love. Are you carrying a burden of sin? Allow God’s mercies to restore you. Are you in need of reassurance? Allow God to hold you in His embrace. Are you in need of healing? Allow God to mend you with His touch.

If you don’t know Jesus in a personal way you can begin a relationship with him today. The first step is a prayer telling him you believe He is who He says He is and a second step is surrendering control of your will and life to him.  These can be communicated in a simple prayer (prayer is talking to God):

“Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.”

If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, then you can pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

If you prayed this prayer we would love to hear from you . If you would like to know God deeper we can connect you with an email mentor and/or send you some great links.

A glorious truth of Scripture is the certainty that if we seek after the Lord we will not be disappointed. Seekers are finders.

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and with all your soul.Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV

To seek Jesus is to seek reality. He not only has directions for us to follow, but He is the pathway upon which we travel; He not only has things to say to us, but He is the Truth we seek to know; He not only has the answers for our existence, but He is the Eternal Life that we so desperately seek.

A glorious truth of Scripture is the certainty that if we seek after the Lord we will not be disappointed. Seekers are finders. The beauty of God’s promise is what we find and Who we find as the result of our seeking.  We not only find peace, but we also find the Prince of Peace; we not only find righteousness, but we also find the Righteous One; we not only find counsel, but we also find the Counselor; we not only find wonders, but we also find the Wonderful One; we not only find spiritual food, but we also find the Bread of Life; we not only find provision, but we also find the Shepherd of our souls; we not only find salvation, but we also find the Savior; we not only find the Kingdom, but we also find the King.

Angels, we marvel at their words and authority, and we tremble at their greatness and awesomeness, but…

“When God brings His firstborn into the world, He says, “Let all God’s angels worship Him.” Hebrews 1:6 NIV

Angels are magnificent heavenly beings that fulfill God’s will, and fill us with amazement. We are overcome with their greatness, their glory, and their service. When we read of their works throughout Scripture we stagger at their strength and power, we marvel at their words and authority, and we tremble at their greatness and awesomeness

As magnificent as angels are, their glory pales in the light of Jesus Christ. Their greatness is but a shadow compared to the One whose splendor outshines the sun; their service is but a gesture when we look upon Him who came to serve and give His life as a ransom for many; their works are but tiny tokens of God’s goodness compared to the redemptive work of Christ upon the cross; their strength and power wane as we look upon Him who is seated at the right of the Father; their words and authority take a minor role compared to Him who is the Word become flesh, Emanuel, God

When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing”. Psalm 145:16 NLT

Who considers these words enough? The hand of God being my chief provision and storehouse, is it not a shame to be anxiously careful for anything? Has the Lord all things in His hand? Then surely I shall receive what He has for me; none will be able to withhold it…you need not, says Christ, seek those other things; they shall be brought to you, if ye only abide in Me. If this does not comfort and strengthen us, nothing else will. -Carl Bogatzky

I only need You, Lord, when the first light of dawn appears in the eastern sky; until the last golden hues of the sunset fade upon the western horizon. I only need You, Lord, when the night sky is over my head.

I only need You, Lord, when I rise up and when I sit down; when I go out and when I come in; when I am quiet and when I am active; when I am alone and when I am with others; when I am healthy and when I am ill; when I am up and when I am down; when I am on the go and when I need to wait.

I only need You, Lord, when my lungs need to breathe; when my blood needs to flow; when my body needs to move; when my muscles need to work; when my mind needs to think; when my heart needs to love.

I only need You, Lord, for as long as birds need flight; for as long as whales need the sea; for as long as clouds need moisture; for as long as wildflowers need raindrops; for as long as sunflowers need the summer sun.

I only need You, Lord for this present moment; for the moment when You take me home; for all the moments in-between; and for all the moments ever after.
