The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10

Thought

We look for wisdom in so many worthless and futile places. But ultimate wisdom is found only when we intentionally humble ourselves before our incredible God, giving him the reverence and worship he deserves.

Prayer

Magnificent and awesome God, the great expanse of space and the incredible intricacies of the things in your creation that are so small humble me to silence. Please forgive my lapses into ignorant arrogance and lead me in the way of your wisdom. In Jesus name. Amen.

daily devotional

This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” 1 John 3:19-20

Abby’s deepest secrets were revealed! All her private thoughts, pains and fears! Her younger brother had discovered her diary and showed it to her friends.

Abby cried. Her friend Michelle tried to comfort her. She explained how Jesus already knew the real Abby!  He knew all about her – her concern about looks, boys and what she had done wrong.

But God loved her anyway. He had a great future planned for her, if she invited Him into her heart. Michelle helped Abby pray that prayer!

No, dear one, all of Abby’s problems were not solved that day.

But now she had a new Friend in Jesus. And, yes, she had a lot of explaining to do. But knowing God knew the REAL Abby, meant she could begin to be authentic with others, too.
