Recently I was reading some of the questions and prayer requests we receive from the visitors to our website, http://thoughts-about-god.com . My heart was heavy with the heartbreaking situations people were facing — terminal illnesses, extreme financial problems, abuse, addiction, poverty, confusion — and I asked the Lord, “How can I pray for them? How can I give them hope?’
Instantly He brought the lyrics of a song by Bill and Gloria Gaither to my mind.
Something beautiful, something good
All my confusion He understood
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife
But he made something beautiful of my life.
God reminded me that He is able to take a tangled, messed up life, a confusing or impossible situation, or a seemingly hopeless relationship and make something beautiful out of it. He is all-powerful.
All we have to do is offer Him (admit to Him, tell Him about) our problems, and He takes what we offer Him and makes something good — something beautiful — out of it. Nothing is too hard for Him. His solution may not be instantaneous, but He will do it.
God is waiting to show His love and kindness to you. He wants to make something beautiful of your life. And you can open your heart and life to Him today by praying this prayer with a sincere attitude.
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.
