“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. Colossians 2:9-10
Mom and Dad were celebrating four-year-old Rosie’s first ballet recital and the little star, glowing from the evening’s success, was still dressed in her pink dance costume when they entered the restaurant. The restaurant host knelt to Rosie’s level and asked, “Are you going to be a ballerina when you grow up?” Politely, but with just a touch of scorn that confident children can easily exhibit when they sense condescension, Rosie replied, “I AM a ballerina!”
Rosie would be the first to tell us that she is not qualified to dance with the New York City Ballet. More lessons lie ahead. She will soon outgrow her pink toe shoes and need new ones. She is not naive. But she catches a glimpse of a truth that many Christians miss.
John writes that much lies ahead: …we are God’s children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as he is (1 John 3:2), but an equally astounding truth is that we are now complete in Christ. God cannot love us less than He does at this moment, nor can He love us more. We are God’s children NOW!
