Our Confidence

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God.2 Corinthians 3:4-5

Our trust is in God.

There is much failure in self-assurance. We must not rest upon anything that’s human. God has promised to be with us at all times, and to make the path straight, and to make a way through the mountains. God never fails; He knows the end from the beginning.

Psalm 73:25-26:

Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail;
But my God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

O God, You’re my only hope.
You’re the strength of my heart, and everything I will ever need.
When everyone around me is wilting under the pressure,
teach me, O Lord, to remain steadfast.”

“The testing of my faith shall produce endurance,
and I shall be mature and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1:2-4).
I shall reap if I faint not.

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might
He increases strength” (Isaiah40:29).

In my exhaustion, renew me like the eagle so I can run and not be weary;
so I can walk and not faint.
When I reach my breaking point, You’ll provide a way of escape.
(1 Corinthians 10:13)

The day and night are alike to the man, who rests completely in the will of God, knowing that – “all things work together for good to them that love God.” (Romans 8:28)
