Christian devotionalIn God we boast all day long, And praise Your name forever.”
Psalm 44:8 (NKJV)

Here are four reasons why today is your best day.

– Today is your best day because you are here. God has placed you in this moment of time for a purpose, and the things that happen to you today will be an unfolding of that purpose.

– What happened to you yesterday, however easy or difficult, was used by God to help prepare you for what He has for you today.

– God will use what happens today to prepare you for what He has for you in future days.

– God has used your past and worked it all together for the good, and He will use this day to add to the good that He has already worked in your behalf.

Christian daily devotionalsWhile visiting family in Minnesota, my brother-in-law took me to one of his favorite antique stores. Just before leaving I spotted a small wall sign made out of chalk. It was from the 40’s and said “God is love.” It was my favorite find of the day! It now sits on a shelf in my office, speaking that all-important truth to me each time I enter.

“God is love” is not someone’s idea about God, it is a revelation God has given us of Himself. Because God is love, it means that He is eternally love. He has always been love and He will always be love. Everything God says is spoken out of love and everything God does is done out of love. Everything God did and said in the Old Testament and the New Testament was said and done out of love.

There are many things that are true about love. One of the things about love is that it must speak truth. God could never say He is love if He withheld the truth or didn’t speak the truth. Love would never deceive, lie, mislead, or misguide.

Love not only must speak the truth, but also demonstrate the truth through every action. God not only tells us He loves us, but He demonstrated that love by sending His Son to die for us. The Cross of Christ tells us that love is not only kind and caring, but love is willing to suffer and lay down its life. If sin didn’t matter, Jesus would never have gone to the Cross.

The Cross is God’s greatest demonstration of His love. Jesus died because of our sin. The Cross of Christ was love’s plan to rescue us from the penalty of sin and all its horrible consequences. Sin is our greatest problem and the love of God met it head on!

The love of God speaks to every man and woman the same eternal truth: “Turn from your sin, come to the Cross and receive the gift of My forgiveness through the blood that My Son shed for you.” This is the gift of salvation freely given to us by grace.

As God’s ambassadors we represent His love in a dark world. ALL people are truly lost, bound by sin, and under its condemnation. Each of us is in desperate need of God’s grace and mercy. Now, more than ever, people need to know that God is love; they also need to know the truth of the Gospel. The Gospel is our only hope, our only salvation, and our only way to be forgiven…and that truth is the most loving thing anyone could ever say.

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8 NKJV

In this moment…there is only one voice for you to hear, only one choice for you to make, only one step for you to take, only one Master for you to serve, and only One heart for you to please that really, truly matters!

Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” John 8:28-29 (NKJV)

What an incredible journey Jesus made;
what an overwhelming expression of love He undertook;
what an awesome purpose He had in mind.

You were on His heart.

When He left His home in heaven, He saw you;
when He became a man on earth, He was seeking you;
when He stretched out His hands upon the cross,

He was reaching out to you;

when He returned to His Father, He was preparing a place for you.
You are the sheep He has come to shepherd,
to guide, to feed, to protect, to shelter, and to carry.

You are the one He calls His own.

And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17 (NKJV)

Lord, I thirst for You. I long for more of your life-giving, spirit-refreshing, heart-fulfilling, thirst-quenching, life-changing waters of life. In this thirsty land, in these dry places, amidst these empty wells of this world I come to you and drink.

Thank You for promising to satisfy my thirst, to fill my cup, and to cause it to run over. Thank You for giving me pure, undefiled, living water. Thank You for the water that comes from beneath Your throne, from the well of Your Son, from the river of Your Spirit, and from the water of Your Word.

Lord, I come to You, the Fountain of living waters. I turn from every broken cistern which cannot hold water. I welcome Your gracious invitation to come to Your waters and drink freely— without money, without price, without labor, without strife. I drink of You, I drink from You, I drink because of You.

Lord, I drink now. I drink by faith. I drink with thanksgiving. I drink because You have said, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters.”

Scriptures: Isaiah 55:1-2, Jeremiah 2:13, Revelation 22:17, Revelation 22:1, John 4:4-15

Being rooted and grounded in love.” Ephesians 3:17

May you know the love of God in its fullness, in its endlessness, in its loveliness, in its tenderness—

May you know the depths of love— reaching down and under girding you at the most painful level of your heartache, freeing you from the heaviest weight of your burden, restoring you in the deepest valley of your sorrow.

May you know the heights of His love—lifting you up from the miry clay, releasing you into the all-sufficiency of His conquering grace, opening wide your wings of faith to soar like the eagle.

May you know the breadth of His love—covering you in its all-embracing care, reassuring you in your trial, strengthening you in your weakness, drawing you close in times of uncertainty, holding you with all the mercies that come from the Father’s heart.

May you know the length of His love—bringing you release from the bondages of the past, walking with you in peace on your present pathway, going ahead of you and preparing the way for the rich treasures yet to come.

And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:19 (NASB)

The first thing:

God has the power to meet every need in your life because He is omnipotent.
The LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty.
Genesis 17:1(NASB)

The second thing:

God knows what your needs are and how to meet those needs because He is omniscient.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God.” Hebrews 4:13 (NLT)

The third thing:

God will personally see to it that your needs are met because He is omnipresent.
Fear not, for I am with you;  be not dismayed, for I am your God.

He’s your God in the sunshine,
He’s your God in the rain,
He’s your God in the laughter,
He’s your God in the pain.

He’s your God in the springtime,
He’s your God in the fall,
He’s your God in the silence,
He’s your God in the call.

He’s your God in the quiet,
He’s your God in the test,
He’s your God in the battle,
He’s your God in the rest.

He’s your God in the heat wave,
He’s your God in the chill,
He’s your God in the whirlwind,
He’s your God in the still.

In light time and dark time
In the valleys and peaks,
He’s the God who holds you,
He’s the God who keeps.

I will take you by the hand and will keep you.” Isaiah 42:6 (AMP)
