Dear Partners,
We wish you a joy filled Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
In all the shops, homes, churches, and schools, you hear Christmas music playing and the decorations are plentiful. Children are so excited. Yet, I have also noticed that some people are more impatient–horns blare if someone is walking or driving too slow and people barge into the lines at the counters. A change of our accustomed schedules and an increase of items on our “To Do” list take a toll on our physical and emotional energy. Christmas spirit?
What a contrast to the night when Christ was born. “And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7
“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.’ Luke 2:8.
Reading these verses, you can almost feel the peaceful and loving atmosphere around the people on that Holy night.
May we all commit ourselves to be givers of peace, love and joy this Christmas season and every day this coming year.
