Treasures in Darkness

by Vonette Bright

And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness— secret riches.  I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.” Isaiah 45:3

It was over a year of the deepest pain Joanna ever experienced.  God had allowed a rift to appear in some of her dearest relationships.  Nothing she tried could repair it.

But through prayer and Bible study, God began revealing the cause to her.  She had a deep-seated need for approval.  It caused her to look to people for her identity, rather than to Christ.  It was in that difficult time that she discovered this truth.

Even in darkness there are hidden treasures.  In the undoing of everything Joanna held dear, she found all she really needed was Christ.

Dear friend, you don’t need the favor of people.  Because God loves you.  You are His favored, His beloved.  He uses difficult times and even attacks from the enemy, in order to work in you wholeness and maturity.

  1. Stephen Bernard says:

Yes, Jesus is there for everyone’s help. He who trusts Him would never be disappointed. Jesus seeks and saves! In the Pool of Bethesda, Jesus went seeking the cripple who was languishing there in misery without a queer! In my case, Jesus came home, the moment I was brought home from the hospital without a cure for my Paralytic condition, on the seventh day. As I was looking at the Crucifix on the Altar, I was told to,”Get Up”. After a brief hesitation, as the prompting continued, I got up and was healed!!! praise the Lord. There was no hope of my recovery for my family nor my friends. But Jesus didn’t allow me to despair! Thank you.
