Be Thankful

Always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
 (1 Thessalonians 5:18, NLT)

Many years ago, our personal world seemed to be crumbling around my husband and me.

All we had worked and planned for in the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ was hanging on a slender thread.

Because of a series of unforeseen circumstances, we were facing a financial crisis.

But years before that, we had discovered God’s faithfulness.

When we express thanksgiving, obedience and gratitude to God, He releases His great power on our behalf.

So we began to thank God for who He is and what He had already done for us. Supernatural peace flooded our hearts. In a matter of days, apart from our abilities to solve the problem, God provided the solution.

Dear one, always be thankful…especially in crisis.

God can turn your tragedy to triumph, discord to harmony, and your defeat to victory.

How very true. Thanking God for everything that he does to keep our lives on course should be as natural as taking a breath. My husband and I had a massive crisis in our lives last year. It seemed insurmountable at the time - He had a cancerous tumour removed and the operation left him with sceptacaemia . Five operations and heavy chemotherapy later and ours, and the prayers of friends and family for his recovery were answered. God never let us down and we thank him always and forever.

i just want to let you know how blessed i was reading this article.

our family is in a midst of crisis because of my mother’s illness. she has brain

tumor. she has been bed ridden for the past 8 months. but we believe He has

purpose why He allowed this to happen. Indeed, no matter what happens, we

should always be thankful. It’s most difficult to be thankful when things are

going against you. But we have to be thankful all the same.

    Have a great day!

Yes its true WE HAVE TO BE THANKFUL TO GOD IN JOY AND ALSO IN SORROW.Earlier i used to think , why does God give pain in our life when he loves us so much. But later on i understood that in each situation he wanted to teach me something new about life. I felt his love more when iwas in sorrow. Today i welcome sorrow eventhough its painful, so that i can feel Gods love more . And therby share my experiences with others who find difficulty in facing life.

Thanks. This message has a real meaning to me and my family. So
many difficulties/situations I do not understand - my husband sick for nine months - there a reason why he is sick. True thank God. I know things are changing with my husband’s behaviour. There’s more love in the family.
